Here's what you need to know before you get started:

You don't need to rush! The RC will be available at least through July, and we're not limiting the number of downloads or product keys. So you have plenty of time.

Installation: If you are running Windows 7 Beta you’ll need to back up your data (preferably on an external device) and then do a clean install of the Windows 7 Release Candidate. Then, you’ll need to reinstall applications and restore your files. If you need help, please see the Installation Instructions.

Tech details/updates: before installing the RC, please read the Release Notes and Things to Know for important information about the release.
*

Routine news: For day-to-day news, keep an eye on the team blog. And, you can get non-technical news, tips, and offers by subscribing to the monthly Exploring Windows newsletter.

Back up your data: We know you know this already, but please back up your data and please don't test the RC on your primary home or business PC.
*

Keep your PC updated: To get critical updates, be sure to turn on automatic updates in Windows Update.
*

Remember expiration dates: Please plan ahead for the Beta and RC expiration dates. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to rebuild your test machine using a valid version of Windows before the software expires. Windows will notify you that the expiration process is beginning and two weeks later your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. The Beta expires on August 1, 2009, and bi-hourly shutdowns will begin July 1, 2009. The RC will expire June 1, 2010, and the bi-hourly shutdowns will begin on March 1, 2010. In both cases, you’ll need to rebuild your test PC to replace the OS and reinstall all your programs and data.




sono indeciso se continuare con la 7000, che è stabilissima, o se provare subito la RC, sono pigro e il fatto che debba radere al suol oil pc formattato un mese e emzzo fa, un poco mi rallenta.
Qualcuno l'ha già messa?

Sto scricando la RC giusto ora.. Qualcuno mi spiega perché non mi fanno fare il download diretto, ma mi fann passre da un'applcazione scritta in Java, che mi rallenta e incasina Firefox pesantemente?

Qemu ha fallito. L'installazione è avvenuta con successo, ma al momento di fare il boot dall'Hard Disk salta fuori una Blue Screen of Death con errore 0x000007. Come al solito, gli errori della Microsoft sono sempre i più comprensibili.

In serata riprovo con VirtualBox e, al limite, VMWare, poi farò sapere.

io me ne sto con la mia 7000 che ad oggi nn mi ha mai dato il benche minimo problema, ne sono strafelice. oltretutto con la 7000 nn c'è nemmeno il problema che scada xkè c sono un milione d crack che gli tolgono la timebomb quindi nn rischio :snob:

Ok.. Con VirtualBox tutto e` andato a buon fine e sto scrivendo da Windows 7 su VB..
L'installazione e' durata qualcosa tipo 3 ore, che anche su Virtual Machine e' un tempo inaccettabile.
Pian piano vi faro' sapere cosa ne penso. Contento solo del fatto che finalmente mi ha fatto impostare una password per l'utente in fase d'installazione, al contrario di quanto avveniva con le precedenti versioni..

cosi tanto x l'installazione? con la beta io ho fatto un upgrade da vista e un installazione post format e c avro messo un'ora e mezza circa nel primo caso e 15 min nel secondo O.o
mi pare strano che il tempo si possa dilatare COSI tanto x l'installazione da 0, 6 volte tanto mi sa che qualcosa lo faceva intoppare sul tuo pc

Boh.. Non te lo so dire.
Comunque al momento sta andando con 1 GB di Ram (ne ho due totali installati), processore fisso a 1,6GHz e le prestazioni non sono cosi' pessime..

.. mi scatta il solitario (e no, non sto scherzando).

Ok, primo problema serio.

Devo installare un pacchetto per abilitare l'accelerazione 3D, questo pacchetto deve modificare i file C:\Windows\System32\d3d8.dll e d3d9.dll.
Ci provo con l'avvio normale, niente, mi dice che per modificare quei file devo entrare in Safe mode.
Ottimo, riavvio, premo F8 (io ero rimasto all F5 di Windows 98 :look: ) entro in Safe mode. Avvio l'installatore del pacchetto e mi dice che non puo' modificare i file.
Ok, vado a vedere i permessi del file, e chiaramente (una cosa giusta!) all'utente non è permesso modificarli.
Avvio il file manager come amministratore e.. nemmeno l'amministratore può farlo..
Nei permessi, l'unico che può modificare quei file è l'utente "TRUSTED INSTALLER", che ho scoperto essere nientepopodimenoche l'installatore di Windows 7.
In pratica non posso fare nulla con quei file.

C'è un modo per avere un fottuto terminale serio su Windows e poter forzare il cambio d'utente in modo da diventare Trusted Installer?
La domanda è puramente retorica: no.


Ora ricordo perché avevo tolto Windows, non ti da il controllo del sistema operativo.

Ok, qui finisce definitivamente la mia "avventura" con Windows 7. Chiaramente ha deluso davvero tanto le mie aspettative, e si dimostra il solito sistema operativo per utenti rincoglioniti. Da parte mia continuo a consigliare Windows XP, che con le sue restrizioni almeno non vi tratta da perfetti idioti.

Mhm hai provato a controllare se nella sezione utenti puoi cambiarti i privilegi con quel tipo?

Altrimenti altra prova è quella di attivare il super administrator (su vista si può fare, su win 7 non so e ora non posso controllare).

cmd -> net user
controlli il nome
net user [nome] /active:yes

Disconnetti e dovresti avere il super admin tra i login (dovrebbe essere senza password di default). Ed in teoria dovrebbe scavalcare qualsiasi restrizione.
