Star Wars, ecco titolo e primi dettagli sulla nuova serie tv
Il regista Jon Favreau si occuperà della prima produzione seriale del mondo di Guerre Stellari, di cui ha rivelato titolo e breve trama
La galassia lontana lontana è un universo in continua espansione e, infatti, accanto alle trilogie cinematografiche in completamento e annunciate per il futuro, dal marzo scorso è stata ufficializzata anche la partenza di una nuova serie tv all’interno del mondo di Star Wars. Destinata alla nuova piattaforma streaming di Disney prevista per il 2019, la nuova produzione sarà affidata a Jon Favreau, regista e sceneggiatore già familiare con la casa di Topolino per film come Iron Man e Jungle Book. Proprio in queste ore lo stesso Favreau ha rivelato alcuni dettagli sulla serie in un post su Instagram.
Il titolo della serie, a quanto pare, sarà The Mandalorian, come rivelato dal testo giallo scritto su sfondo nero in tipico stile Guerre Stellari. Seguono alcune indicazioni sulla trama, che si svolgerà dopo la caduta dell’Impero e prima della nascita del Primo Ordine: “Dopo le storie di Jango e Boba Fett, un altro guerriero emerge nell’universo di Star Wars”.
E poi continua: “Seguiremo le vicissitudini di un solitario pistolero nelle zone più remote della galassia, lontano dall’autorità delle Nuova Repubblica“.
The Mandolarian dunque sarà la prima produzione seriale di questo mondo narrativo, e si aggiungerà a diversi altri progetti previsti per la nuova piattaforma di streaming, dove arriveranno anche i nuovi episodi della serie animata Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

PREVIOUS, Oct. 3: Jon Favreau has revealed details about his forthcoming live-action Star Wars series for Disney’s streaming service. It will be titled The Mandalorian and be based on the warrior race from which bounty hunters Jango Fett and son Boba Fett sprung.
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic,” the Iron Man and Jungle Book filmmaker posted.
Favreau will write the script and serve as EP on the series.
For those completely not in the Star Wars know, Boba Fett is one of the biggest cult figures in the sci-fi cinema canon, originally introduced in Empire Strikes Back. He’s hired by Jabba the Hutt to track down Han Solo, who is in debt to the galactic gangster. Boba Fett ultimately teams with Darth Vader and corners Solo at Cloud City. George Lucas built on the character’s lore by expanding on his younger backstory in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, where we meet Fett’s father Jango, who was the prototype for a series of clone warriors.
Separately, it was reported earlier this summer during Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s opening weekend that Disney was rebooting a Boba Fett film again with Logan‘s James Mangold at the helm.
Disney’s streaming service will contain the studio’s Pixar films and Marvel fare exclusively.

UPDATE: A photo has dropped and episodic directors revealed today for the upcoming Star Wars live-action Disney streaming series The Mandalorian. In addition to Jon Favreau writing the first episode and serving as EP, Star Wars Rebels EP Dave Filoni will helm the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). Also serving as EP is Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Star Wars.com had the news, specifying that production has begun.
